2027:Lagos Deserves Vision; Lagos Deserves Capacity- Hakeem Muri-Okunola
The race to Alausa 2027 has begun in earnest. And it’s gradually taking shape. From speculation about the return of former governor Akinwumi Ambode to the news of resignation of Alhaji Maruf Tunji Alausa, the minister of Education and to the open declaration of Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, aka JANDOR of Lagos to the news of Femi Gbajabiamila, the beat goes on.
Now, the coast appear cleared for the principal private secretary to President Bola Tinubu, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola who sources say he has been anointed for the top job.
First, his picture with Mr. President showing Lagos helmsman, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu how to cross the “t” and dot the “i” started trending.
From there the SPECULATORS went to the town that the man called HMO by friends and admirers had been anointed.
Also , the courtesy visit of the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, to the matriarch of Muri-Okunola family, Alhaja Ramdat Fehintola Muri-Okunola at her residence on Muri-Okunola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, in celebration of Eid el-Fitr, on Friday, 20th March, 2026, is also seen as preparation to unveil the NEW FACE OF LAGOS.

Also present were: the Principal Secretary to the President, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola; the Permanent Secretary, Health District III, Dr (Mrs) Monsurat Adeleke; the Permanent Secretary, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency, Mr. Rasheed Muri-Okunola and Mrs. Rasheedat Daranijo; alongside other family members. It was an assemblage of the whole house preparatory for the declaration.
Now, that President Tinubu has given any of his aides who is interested in elective office up to March 31, 2026 to resign, it remains to be seen if Hakeem Muri-Okunola, will quit to face the task ahead.
