Ogun 2027: GNI Tackles Yayi Over Media Reports
CLARIFICATIONS ON MEDIA REPORTS AND THE GOVERNORSHIP SELECTION PROCESS IN OGUN STATE
We have observed with grave concern the circulation of doctored graphics and misleading narratives suggesting that the Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) camp manipulated the Cover Page of Today’s edition of Punch newspaper.
Our Investigations confirm these materials were deliberately created and circulated by one S O Ogunbona on Senator Yayi Whatsapp groups.
We demand the immediate removal of these doctored graphics and a public retraction within 24 hours. Failure to comply will compel us to provide incontrovertible evidence of authorship and pursue all legal remedies to protect our principal and group.
Equally concerning is the deliberate effort to manufacture political support through coercion. In recent weeks, various stakeholders, including, most recently, our Baales and Iyalojas in Ogun West, have reportedly been pressured to endorse the gubernatorial ambition of a particular aspirant. The boldness and intensity of these tactics are unprecedented in the state’s political history.
For the record, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka remains fully engaged in the race for the APC gubernatorial ticket in Ogun State. No consensus candidate has been selected or finalized. Any suggestion otherwise misrepresents party procedures and ongoing consultations. We urge our teeming supporters to remain calm, disciplined, and focused on the work that truly matters.
The APC operates on due process, broad consultation, and democratic principles. Attempts to fabricate consensus or force endorsements only reveal the desperation of those who fear open competition. Our strength lies in genuine grassroots support, proven vision, and integrity, none of which can be undermined by media distortions or coercive tactics.
To all supporters and the people of Ogun State, remain steadfast and confident. By God’s grace and the will of the people, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka will secure the APC gubernatorial ticket and deliver the transformative leadership our state deserves.
