Rivers 2027: I Have Not Adopted Anyone- Wike

Ahead of 2027 general election in Rivers state, the fate of Governor Siminilaye Fubara seems to be hanging in the balance as the leader of the party and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has declared that he has not adopted anyone.

Speaking at the after party of the convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, Wike said the elders will meet and decide who to support.

Recall that Wike and Fubara’s agreement to sheathe their swords broke down when Governor Fubara defected to the All Progressives Congress without informing Wike.

The FCT Minister told him then as a matter of fact that singing ” On your mandate” , the slogan of President Bola Tinubu won’t give Fubara a second term.

It took the intervention of President Tinubu to reconcile them.

And since then, both have maintained the peace as President Tinubu declared that Wike is the leader of the PDP and APC in Rivers state.

It’s not clear what will be the next move of Governor Fubara since it’s almost certain from the body language of his estranged godfather that he’s not likely to get a second term.
