Owo/Ose Seat: APC leaders Back Ogundare
A frontline aspirant in the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency race for the 2027 general election, Chief Oluwaseyi Gabriel Ogundare, popularly known as OGO, is emerging as a leading contender, with strong backing from a majority of All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and stakeholders in the constituency.
OGO, a vibrant and enterprising grassroots politician from Imoru in Ose Local Government Area, is said to have secured the endorsement of key decision-makers within the constituency.
A reliable source, who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity, disclosed that Ogundare was highly rated among other aspirants during a recent stakeholders’ meeting convened to deliberate on the forthcoming election.
According to the source, several factors worked in his favour.
The incumbent lawmaker, having completed two terms, was reportedly ruled out by stakeholders, while Owo axis was considered to have had adequate representation with the deputy governor.
Consequently, there was a consensus that the House of Representatives seat should remain in Ose.
The source further noted that Ogundare was adjudged competent and well-suited for the position, given his youthfulness, global exposure, and track record in community development.
His contributions have also earned him traditional titles, including Mayegun of Uso and Aare Gbobaniyi of Upenmen Kingdom.
Stakeholders were also said to have favoured his candidacy due to his perceived neutrality, especially in contrast to some aspirants accused of deepening divisions within the party.
