Ogun Monarch Sets Up 7-Man Committee On Makun Omi’s History
A seven man committee has been constituted to write a book on the history of the ancient community of Makun Omi, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The team, according to the statement signed by Otunba Gbenga Onayiga, spokesperson of Oba Kazeem Salami, is to conduct a thorough research, document and publish a verifiable history that will present an accurate record of the community’s ancestry.
Announcing the setting up of the committee, the Osobia of Makun Omi, HRM Oba Kazeem Adeshina Salami (Ilufemiloba 1) stated that the action is in line with the provisions of Makun Omi Strategic Development Plan.
According to the First Class Traditional Ruler, the committee will gather materials from relevant sources within and outside Makun Omi with a view to writing a credible and authoritative book on the town.
“The project will enable indigenes to share and teach the present and future generations the history, values and culture of our great community,” Osobia asserted.
He promised that the palace would provide basic requirements to facilitate the execution of the historic task, with a timeline of eight months.
With a prominent indigene, Mr Bola Ogunpolu as Chairman, other members of the Committee are Chief Abiodun Odumade, Chief Wale Okulenu, Mrs Dupe Okesanjo, Dr Victor Adefarasin and Mr Victor Olabanwo.
