A Somali student, Mariam Noor has developed a medical device that helps prevent leaking heart valves, which could eliminate the need for heart surgery.
The Danish-Somali from Aarhus University, Denmark spent three years designing and developing a ring that may cure patients with a leaking heart valve, also known as aortic insufficiency.
Mariam invention has been hailed by cardiologists as revolutionary and could have a major impact on the world of surgery.
