Kebbi Govt,3D Investment, NNPC Sign MOU On Bio-Fuel

Kebbi State Government and some core investment Companies like the 3D investment company and the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) have on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding for the take-off of a refinery for the production of bio-fuel in the Zuru Emirate Council of the State.
The State Deputy Governor, Col. Samaila Yombe Dabai, while briefing newsmen in his Office Conference Hall yesterday said the core investors had moved to the field to commence the setting up of the refinery.
The project coordinator, Professor Abubakar Kaoje, said the contract between Kebbi State Government and the core investors was for a period of 30 years, adding that on equity share, Kebbi State has 5 per cent, NNPC 25 per cent, while the core investors would have 70 per cent shares.
According to professor Ka’oje, cassava tubers which would form major raw materials for production of the fuel are largely grown in Gwandu, Argungu, Maiyama and Danko/Wassagu Local Government Areas of the State which would continue for many years.
