Owu Kuta Chieftaincy Title Priceless–Olowu ….Honours Lagos Business Tycoon, Abisola Bamidele, Akume’s Aide … Showers Encomium On Buratai
Olowu of Kuta, HRM Oba Hameed Adekunle Oyelude Makama, CON, Tegbosun III, has declared that he does not give Chieftaincy Title anyhow, because the recipient must merit it.
Speaking at the conferment of Chieftaincy titles in Owu Kuta on Friday, Oba Makama urged the recipients to be good ambassadors of Kuta.
Lagos Business Tycoon, Abisola Bamidele, was conferred with Erelu Borokini of Owu Kuta, while Hon Michael Msuaan, an aide of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume bagged Akeweje of Owu Kuta.
Oba Makama said; ” The recipients have been supportive of Owu Kuta because I don’t give chieftaincy title anyhow. My chieftaincy titles are expensive, not in cash, but to those who merited it. You have become ambassadors of Owu Kuta and the entire Owu kingdom worldwide. So, you should support the development of the Owu Kingdom,” he admonished the recipients.
Going down the memory Lane, Oba Makama said Owu Kuta was founded in 1427, being the second Owu Kingdom after Orile-Owu.
He, however, showered praises on the former army chief, Lt Gen TY Buratai, who holds the chieftaincy title of Balogun Owu Kuta for his developmental strides in Kuta and its environs.
” I must commend my friend and former army chief, Lt Gen TY Buratai, for contructing the Bridge linking Owu with Ede that has been abandoned for more than 100 years.”
Continuing, Oba Makama said Lt Gen Buratai was instrumental to making the prayers that were offered for him during coronation, that, “may Ede Bridge be constructed during your reign” come to pass.
” Lt Gen Buratai has given me pension and retirement, and that’s why anyone that wants to take a strand from Buratai hair will have myself and ancestors to contend with.” He said.
