ASOHON Pays Advocacy Visit To Osun Women, Children And Social Affairs Ministry
The Osun State chapter of Association of Orphanages and Homes Operators in Nigeria on Wednesday paid advocacy visit to Osun Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs.
The ASOHON Executives led by the State Coordinator, Alhaja Sariyu Oyenike-Laoye were received by the Permanent Secretary, Barrister Abimbola Babatunde and the Principal Social Welfare Officer who is also the Desk Officer in charge of orphanages, Mr Olumide Ajani.
The Coordinator said there are over 21 orphanages and homes in Osun State taking care of motherless and abandoned babies.
She expressed gratitude to the state government for extending some palliatives to them recently.
The operators however lamented the economic hardship in the country and appealed to the state government to support them.
The orphanages also called on the general public to assist them to cater for the orphans.While speaking, the Permanent Secretary, the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs, Barrister Abimbola Babatunde said the Ministry is monitoring activities of the orphanages and assured them of government support.
