Akwa Ibom CP, Waheed Ayilara,Is Dead

Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Waheed Ayilara, is dead.

Ayilara died in the early hours of Thursday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

He is said to have died as a result of complications from prostate cancer surgery on Wednesday.

“We are very sad to inform you that our friend, brother, and family, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara, is dead,” said a family source.

Ayilara was a former acting Commissioner of Police in Lagos State before he was posted to Akwa Ibom as substansive CP.

He will be buried today by 5pm according to Muslim rites.
