FCMB Partners Chanrai Tulsi, Offer Free Eye Surgery In Kebbi

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility CSR to the society, the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) office in Kebbi State in collaborating with Tulsi Chanrai Foundation an Indian based organisation in Kebbi State have offered free eye surgery and treatment to four hundred and fifty patients in the state.
Group Head, Corporate Affairs of the FCMB, Mr Diran Olojo in his welcome address revealed this on Thursday during their Community Outreach tagged “Priceless Gift of Sight Programe” to Commemorate the 15th years of bold and purposeful partnership action of the bank with the eye foundation held at the bank premises in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State.
Olojo disclosed that, over 200, 000 patients have benefited from the combined efforts of FCMB and Tulsi Chanrai Foundation in eye surgery and treatment within the 15th years of the FCMB establishment in Kebbi State.
He disclosed further that the beneficiaries were drawn from all the twenty one local government areas of the State and other parts of neighbouring States.
The FCMB boss added that since 2009, his bank has sponsored and organised such programme where 400,000 Nigerians in various states, including Cross River, Ogun, Imo, Abuja, Katsina, Adamawa and Kebbi have benefited from free testing, optical services, surgeries, free glasses, and eye disease management through this initiative and collaborative programme.
According to Olojo, FCMB has long history of Community and human development, and it has continued implementing initiatives nationwide so that all communities in which the bank operates should benefit from it presence through sustainable development .
He noted that, over the years, the bank the philosophy of implementing initiatives which focused on poverty alleviation, economic empowerment and environmental sustainability and today’s event reinforces that philosophy.
He commended the Kebbi State government under the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris, other agencies and Tulsi Chanrai Foundation and all those who have made the ‘Priceless Gift of Sight Program’ a huge success.
Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Nafisa Nasiru Idris, represented by the State Commissioner for health, Yunusa Yauri, in her address commended both the bank and Tulsi Chanrai Foundation for the significant programme which brought succor to the less privilege persons affected by eye aliments.
Hajiya Nafisa Idris, therefore called on other banks and organisations to emulate FCMB and Tulsi Chanrai Foundation initiatives in assisting members of the society suffering from various diseases in Kebbi State.
