Lagos PDP: Sarunmi’s Primrose Aligns With JANDOR, Koshoedo To Revive The Party
.Set up Elders Council to chart winning ways
The members of the PRIMROSE movement who are the real founding members of Lagos PDP led by Chief Dapo Sarumi on Saturday aligned with prominent elders of the party loyal to the Governorship Candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran JANDOR and the loyalists of the Deputy National Secretary of the party, Hon. Sentonji Koshoedo to revive the party in the state.
The members of the movement on Saturday 26th October 2024 along with other prominent elders of the party establish the Lagos PDP Elders Council with the primary responsibility of giving direction to the party.
The members of the Elders Council appointed Chief Taiwo Kuye and Hon. Shamsudeen Arobieke as Coordinator and Admin secretary respectively while Chief C. O. Oshoba, Alhaji Arilesere, Pa. Shakiru Oladunjoye, Alh. K. Mohammed among other party elders will serve as trustees.
The members of the newly established Lagos PDP Elders Council expressed their reservation over the current situation of the party, pledged to revive the vision of the founding fathers of the party in Lagos state among whom were Chief Dapo Sarunmi and Chief Stephen Olukunle Bakare (Oluwalogbon Motors) and chart winning ways for the party in future elections.
The coordinator of the Lagos PDP Elders Council, Chief Taiwo Kuye decried the incessant inability of the party to efficiently offer herself as the leading opposition party and the credible alternative to the ruling party.
He assured that the elders of the party across the state as represented in the newly established council will rallied other well meaning members of the party to synergize in serving as the conscience of the party.
Alhaji Arilesere, a prominent leader of the Primose movement reminisces on the history of the party and the aspirations of the founding members on how to lead Lagos State in the post military regime era.
He enjoined all members to embrace the politics of ideology rather than stomach infrastructure and pecuniary interest which are the motives of some politicians today.
