2023: Why Ondo South Must Produce APC Senator -Jimoh Ibrahim
The All Progressives Congress, APC frontline Senatorial aspirant for Ondo South Senatorial District of Ondo State, Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR, has urged delegates in the May 25th, 2022 primary election to vote for him as the party Senatorial candidate for the 2023 General Elections.
Yemi Akintomide, Director of Communication, Jimoh Ibrahim Senatorial Campaign Organisation In a statement issued on Wednesday said the billionaire business mogul made the plead when meeting about 200 delegates of the party, on Wednesday, at both Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo local government areas during his second round of “Meet the Delegates” tour across the district ahead of next week primary election.
The Senatorial aspirant said the delegates owe the party and the people of the Southern Senatorial District moral duty of electing a capacity and capable candidate of nothing less his personality, in order for APC to win the general election, stressing that only this feat could earn the district the Governorship seat of the state in 2025.
His words; “Our dear delegates, as we know, the incumbent Senator for this district, Sen. Nicholas Tofowomo is of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and as a sitting Senator, he would have equipped over one billion naira to prosecute his reelection bid; and if our party must take the seat from him and PDP, we must present a credible and capable candidate. This is one of the reason you must vote for me as APC candidate for the election. I am able and willing to win the election for APC.
“And more importantly as a necessity for our District to produce the next Governor of our Sunshine State in the later election; we must win the Senatorial seat for APC to curry the favour and confident of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN and leaders from other districts (North and Central) that we’re ready to win the Governorship seat in 2025. If APC loss the Senatorial seat again to opposition party, it will be morally difficult for us to take the Governorship seat from a district that produces APC Senator, notwithstanding the rotational agreement,” Ibrahim stated.
He promised to embark on massive and impactful empowerment for all groups and sectors in the district, as a way of ensuring rapid developments and economic growth across the six council areas of the Southern district.
Responding on behalf of the one hundred delegates from Ile-oluji/Okeigbo Council area, YinkaSalad Akinterinwa assured Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR of getting 100% votes of total delegates in the council area, stressing that the political exposure and antecedents of the businessman cum politician surpassed that of any of the contestants in the Senatorial race.
