The Largest Church In The World: Inside Oyedepo’s 109, 000 The Ark And Ibiyeomie’s 120,000 Capacity 5 Fingers Of God Catheral

Both Bishops David Olaniyi Oyedepo and David Ibiyeomie are men of God with taste and panache.

While Oyedepo’s Living Faith Ministry popularly known as Winner’s Chapel is located at Ota in Ogun State, Ibiyeomie’s Salvation Ministries is domiciled in Porth Harcourt, Rivers state. Recently, Bishop Ibiyeomie in a podcast that has gone viral said his 120, 000 capacity is the largest auditoria in the world. It’s said to cost a princely sum of thirty billion naira only ( N30Bn) On the other hand, Bishop Oyedepo said his own Ark is the largest single roofed house in the world.

He said his ministry, Winners chapel is reputed to be good at setting high record and breaking it.

According to him, when the 50, 000 seater was completed some years back, it was reputed to be the largest single congregation in the world, now The Ark which is reputed to be around 109,000 capacity according to Bishop Oyedepo will be inaugurated on November 29, 2025.

Bishop Ibiyeomie, who also told his congregation in a recent podcast that the Salvation Ministries’ Catheral, will be opened for worship this year. He is however, keeping the date close to his chest.

Some of the features of Bishop Oyedepo’s Ark are 20,000 capacity for children; 330 car park at the basement and 1200 Restrooms. He says it will only take seven minutes to go to the restroom from your seat.

The imposing cathedral named The Ark, according to Bishop Oyedepo was a name given by God.

“I named it Faith Theatre, He named it The Ark. The engineers around the world are going through strain to get it done,” he added.

Also, Pastor Tunde Bakare’s Citadel Global Community Church, Cathedral; formerly Latter Rain Assembly, is on Kudirat Abiola Way , Lagos.

The gigantic structure was built by building giant, Cappa & Dalberto.

At the Redemption City, Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s three kilometres by three kilometres Auditoria, given the size remains the single largest congregation in the World. Also, the Redemeed Christian Church of God is said to be biggest in the world having branches in about 189 countries, including Israel.

It is located at Km 10 Port Harcourt Igwuruta Road. The auditorium is expected to sit 120,000 people which makes it the world’s largest single auditorium.

David Ibiyeomie the presiding Pastor of Salvation Ministries said as at the time God gave the go ahead order of the cathedral, structural engineers and those in the building industry were consulted and they gave an estimate of thirty billion naira just for the carcass.

He said the ministry never had such amount of money, in a 7 hours praise at the project site,the cathedral was handed over to God. Ever since the project has gone on without sweat.

The roof of the cathedral is a space roof and according to the Chinese company that roofed the cathedral ( Xuzhou LF Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. ) they said “It is biggest church in Nigeria, even in the world, which consists of one 91m span central dome, four finger-shaped cylindrical structures, two fan-shaped roof structures. All the roof structures are space frame, covered with AL-Mg-Mn roofing sheet. The total project area is about 50,000M2”.

The finishing of the cathedral according to David Ibiyeomie is going to expose the beauty of the 5 Fingers Of God Cathedral.

He said all lights in the cathedral will be made of gold.

Papa said a section of the finishing will cost fifteen billion Nigerian naira, he explained he has zero worries as God is in charge of the project.

David Ibiyeomie’s love for excellence is evident in the construction and finishing of the 5 Fingers Of God Cathedral.

In the cathedral premises will be a 5 star hotel, a park, a skyscraper which will be the administrative block, currently in premises is the state of the art secondary school of the commission Chokhmah International Academy.
