Revealed! How Osinbajo, Udo Udoma Hijacked Ministry Of Sports Budget
A former presidential candidate on the platform of Social Democratic Party, Prince Adebayo Adewole, has accused former vice president Yemi Osinbajo and erstwhile minister of national planning, Udo Udoma of spending the money budgeted for the ministry of sports during the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Adewole, who spoke on channels television current affairs programme monitored in Lagos on Tuesday while reviewing the 2025 budget, said most of the Ministers don’t even read the budget because they don’t believe in it.
He, however, said a lack of experts among journalists who are versed in budgeting is responsible for the gaps, adding that the role of media is to hold public officials accountable.
” There’s freedom of information act that the media can use to hold public officials to account for how they spend money budgeted for their offices,” he added.
He also alleged that the money meant for the Ministry of Health under Prof. Isaac Adewole was diverted to the Ministry of Agriculture.
The former presidential candidate said he’s ready to engage the former vice president Osinbajo and others that he mentioned their names in a debate and explained further.
He said: ” The money meant for the ministry of sports under Solomon Dalung was hijacked by Osinbajo and Udo Udoma. The money was spent from the former vice president’s office.”
Sharing his views on the school feeding system, the 2023 SDP presidential candidate said he does not believe in palliatives but a holistic package for both the pupils and the teachers.
