Worker’s Welfare My Priority, Gov Idris Assures Civil Servants In Kebbi

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasiru Idris has on Thursday during the Workers day celebration assured civil servants in the state of continue commitment towards improved Welfare and the protection of their rights and privileges.
Governor Nasir gave this assurance while addressing workers to mark the May Day Celebration in Birnin Kebbi, as he emphasized that workers are invaluable partners in the development of Kebbi State and remain critical stakeholders who cannot be ignored.
He described 1st May as an important occasion, he commended the workers for their dedication and the remarkable contributions towards the development of the state.
“Your dedication, hard work, and perseverance are the backbone of our economy. I commend you for your tireless efforts”.
Governor Idris, also acknowledged the challenges the state workers are facing and assured them of his administration’s resolve to address those issues.
While congratulating Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) for the Workers Day celebration, Governor Idris expressed appreciation for the trade Union Congress in their steadfast advocacy for worker’s welfare and urged workers to remain dedicated to their duties and continue driving the state’s development.
Earlier in a remark, the State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Murtala Usman, expressed appreciation on behalf of both the NLC and TUC for the Governor’s outstanding attention to worker’s welfare and development.
Comrade Usman lauded the Governor’s continuous support for the workers, describing his presence at the 2025 May Day celebration as expected considering his background as a veteran and top-notch unionist as well as a former labour leader.
Highlights of the event included the Match pass by workers, presentation of an ‘Award of Excellence’ to Governor Idris by the Kebbi State chapters of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the National Association of Nigeria Nurses.
The State NLC leadership also presented awards to distinguished individuals for their contributions to Kebbi State’s development.
