My Daughter Said I Killed Their Mother Because She Was Traumatised- Akwa Ibom Gov, Umo Eno Reacts To Trending Video
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has said that he will not be distracted by the spate of insinuations and character assassination meted on him by detractors but would focus on the interpretation of the ARISE Agenda and deliver on his social contract with Akwa Ibom people.
Governor Eno was fielding questions from Government House Correspondents on the video making the rounds about his family on arrival at Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo for the 60th Birthday celebration of former Deputy Governor, Obong Nsima Ekere.
He said, We are in political times, so you expect more of that. My family is intact, and you can see everyone here with me.
“The event we are talking about happened immediately my wife passed on, and that was last year. So why is it surfacing and trending now? Why is it in the eve of the 2nd year anniversary that we are celebrating the milestone that we have achieved.
“This teaches me that there are detractors around. My family is intact. You can see that Jane, herself is here, that’s Helen and her husband. So we have a good family.
“The pressure on the kids when they lose a loved one could be traumatic and we must know that.

“All I can appeal to the public is, there shouldn’t bring back sad memories. It is enough that I have loss my wife, and I pray that they allow her peaceful soul to rest in peace.
“I can’t be distracted. I remain focused and I will continue to serve Akwa Ibom people. I don’t wish what happened to me should happen to anyone. So to the people throwing these around, if that is what they wish for themselves, I wish them luck.”
Governor Eno, on behalf of the government and people of the State congratulated Obong Nsima Ekere on his 60th birthday celebration and prayed God to continue to strength him, imbued him with long life, good health and wisdom to continue in the State and Nation’s development.
