Ex Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, Dies At 61

A former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai popularly known as Dodo Mayana, is dead.

He was 61 years of age.

A former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani wrote on his Facebook page about Rufai thus:

“Peter Rufai;A great loss for Nigeria.

“A Goalkeeper like no other.He electrified a generation of football fans with his incredible skill and talent.

“He made us afficted to football in the 80s,90s and the 2000s.The last time I saw him was at Sheraton Hotel,Abuja.One of my football heroes is gone.

“Rest well great soul.”
