My Encounter With Kenneth Hagin Was The Turning Point In My Life- Adeboye
“He asked others to excuse us, and as he got up from his chair towards me to lay hands on me, that was the last thing I saw as I fell under anointing. And when I woke up, I saw him standing by my side, praying. It was awesome! That was the turning point in my life and ministry”
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed that it was his personal encounter with Rev Kenneth Hagin that marked the turning point in his life and ministry.
Pastor Adeboye said this when he ministered at the Holy Ghost Service held at the Redemption City at the weekend.
According to the revered cleric, though he said his father in the Lord and Founder of the RCCG, Rev Josiah Akindayomi, was very powerful but hardly lay hands on people.
Adeboye said maybe because of his Aladura background, he believes in ‘do it yourself ministry’, but there’s another dimension to acquiring power, which is laying on hands.
Continuing, he said; ” Before then, I have been hearing of Rev Kenneth Hagin and the raw miracles wrought through him by God. So I decided to visit him and travelled to Tusla, Okhaloma, USA. When I got there, I told my people that I would like to see the man of God, but they laughed because of the crowd. About seventeen thousand people then. But I was determined. Thereafter, I booked an appointment to see him. Eventually, they ushered us before him in his office. I and others that came with me.
” And he started asking what we wanted. The first person said he would like to be distributing his books in Africa, and he obliged him. Another said he wanted to be distributing his tape, and he obliged him also.
” When it came to my turn, he said young man, what do you want? I said I wanted the totality of you.
“He asked others to excuse us, and as he got up from his chair towards me to lay hands on me, that was the last thing I saw as I fell under anointing. And when I woke up, I saw him standing by my side, praying. It was awesome! That was the turning point in my life and ministry.
” Last year, I visited Okhaloma again and met his son, who took over from him. The son said his father’s office has not been opened since he died in 2003. He said he heard what transpired between me and his father.
” Behold! He opened the office for me and asked that I sit on his father’s chair. When we entered the office, I could still recognise where he sat and when I fell. Maybe there’s something that I didn’t take then, “he added.
It would be recalled that Rev Kenneth E Hagin, a great televangelist, ministered for almost 70 years after God miraculously healed him from a deformed heart and an incurable blood disease at the age of 17. Rev Hagin died in 2003.
