Jakande Mourns Loss Of The Only Female Councillor In Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA

Hon. Seyi Jakande, Chairman of the Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has expressed his deep sorrow over the untimely passing of Hon. Zainab Adeshewa Shotayo, the Councillor for Ward C3 and the only female member of the 6th Legislative House of the Council.

Hon. Shotayo succumbed to a brief illness on August 18, leaving behind a significant legacy of dedication and service to the community.

In a heartfelt statement released by his media office, Jakande described Hon. Zainab Shotayo as “not only the youngest member of the Council but also an exemplary leader who inspired many through her resilience and commitment to public service.

“ Her role as Chief Whip highlighted her dedication to improving the lives of her constituents and serving as a role model, particularly for young women aspiring to take on leadership roles within their communities.

“The loss of Hon. Shotayo is a profound one for our community,” stated Jakande.

“On behalf of the Council and the entire Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye community, I extend our deepest condolences to Hon. Shotayo’s family, friends, and the entire Ward C3 during this difficult time. We grieve with you as we honour her contributions and the impact she made within our community. We stand in solidarity as we navigate this irreparable loss together.”

As the Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA collectively mourns this loss, Jakande encouraged the community to carry forward Hon. Shotayo’s vision for a brighter and more prosperous future.

“Let us honour her memory by striving to uphold her values and continuing the work she was so passionate about,” he added.
