Unauthorized Siren, Premature Political Campaigns Responsible For Attacks On Malami’s Convoy- Police

From: Ayodele Ajoge, Birnin-Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command has attributed yesterday night political violence in the State capital to the illegal use of sirens and premature political campaigning engaged by the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.

Commissioner of Police, Sani Bello, disclosed this while addressing journalists shortly after a security meeting with the state governor.

The briefing followed an attack on the convoy of a former minister in Birnin Kebbi yesterday.

CP Bello emphasized that the police would take decisive action against individuals who violate the ban on unauthorized siren usage or engage in political campaigning outside the officially sanctioned period.

He confirmed the incident and noted that an investigation is currently underway to identify and apprehend those responsible.
