Osun 2022: Ogunbiyi Promises 100,000 Jobs Within A Year If Elected …….Says He’ll Pay All Pensioners’ Gratuities Within Six Months

The governorship candidate of Accord in Osun State, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi has stated that he will create 100,000 jobs within a year of his administration if elected on July 16th governorship polls in the state.Besides, he promised that all outstanding gratuities of pensioners in the state shall be settled by him within six months of his government.Ogunbiyi who spoke at the weekend in Ile-Ogbo, the headquarters of Ayedire local government of Osun state explained that as an entrepreneur coming from the corporate world, he has full ideas of how jobs will be created through agriculture, mining, art and culture and sports and entertainment.The governorship candidate said he will mobilise local and foreign investors that will partner with his government to establish the viable companies across the state.“I am a giant myself in the corporate world. We know what to do to create jobs. I have over 5,000 working in the companies I established. We are in Nigeria, Liberia, Niger and Cameroon.“I have offered my advises to different governments in the state. I have pointed out to them areas where they can invest in but nothing was done by them. They were satisfied by the money coming from Abuja and also relied on loans.“I am coming to offer my expertise to help our state. If we unleash the potentials in this state and tap the resources we have, we will be presenting a budget of one trillion naira.While promising that no retiree in the state will be owed their gratuities and pensions, the Accord flag-bearer said within six months, he will pay up all their outstanding entitlements owed by past administration.On the state civil servants, Ogunbiyi described them as major stakeholders in the state with solid ideas and capacities to make things happen but regretted that they have been rendered ineffective and redundant by the “failed APC-led government in the state”.The insurance magnate turned politician reiterated his commitment to full autonomy of the state local governments’ authorities where elected administrators would be in charge as “councils’ elections will be conducted within six months of our government”.He noted that those at the grassroots will have the opportunity of choosing the local governments chairmen and their councillors, a situation that will help spread development faster to the rural areas.“Under me, local governments money will get to their respective local government areas. They will be involved in our agricultural revolution and other developmental projects”, he said.
