260 Suspended Students Of College Of Health Science In Kebbi To Be Recalled-Provost

About 260 students who rioted at the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Jega, Kebbi State, will soon be recalled to continue with their National Diploma programmes.
Students of the College rioted last year in protest against non accreditation of courses.
The situation has now stabilised as Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has approved the release of N60 million for the accreditation of eight academic programmes of the College by the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE, which is ongoing and nearing completion.
The courses are, Community and Environmental Health, Pharmacy Technician, Health Information, Medical Lab., Health Education and Promotion, Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as Public Health.
The Provost of the College, Hussaini Aliyu, said, students affected by the October 17th, 2024, suspension would soon be recalled on completion of accreditation to continue with their studies leading to the award of the National Diploma, ND.
“Additionally, the Governor has approved the renovation of the students’ hostels as part of the accreditation process”, the Provost said.
The Commissioner for Higher Education, Isah Abubakar Tunga, added that, the ICT Centre and Laboratory including equipment, are fully in place provided by Governor Idris to facilitate accreditation by the NBTE aimed at enhancing learning and research.
