NAFDAC Harps On Compliance, Safety At Stakeholders Forum In Kebbi

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Commission (NAFDAC) in Kebbi State has challenged the Association of table Water Producers (ATWAP) across the 21 Local Government Areas of the State to heed and adhere to all NAFDAC regulations regarding manufacturing and safety practices. The Director, North West Zone of the Agency, Dad Mantim Mullah while addressing Stakeholders and members of the Association at a Stakeholders meeting in Birnin-Kebbi expressed that the aim of the meeting was to ensure total compliance with the regulations of NAFDAC at all levels. “It is, therefore, my believe that the Stakeholders here today will henceforth comply with NAFDAC regulations because they now know better as this training we are now having today is to provide more knowledge and increase the level of understanding of Stakeholders, so that when they go back to their respective locations they would be doing the right in term of compliance required of production of quality packaged water. “ Earlier in his welcome address, the Kebbi State Coordinator of NAFDC, Muyideen Suleiman said he had to closed down about 100 packaged water factories when he arrived the State, due to non compliance and violations such as lack of registration, non renewal of production licences including non compliance facilities. In his remarks, the State Chairman of ATWAP, Babangida Aliyu Bande pleaded total support of his members for NAFDAC regulations on the production of packaged water and foods.
