Edo Strengthens Economic Ties, Promotes MSMEs At 2025 Lagos Int’l Trade Fair

LAGOS, Nigeria – Edo State government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening economic collaboration and expanding opportunities for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as the Honourable Commissioner for Business, Trade and Investment, Hon. Omoh Anabor, led the state’s delegation to the 39th Lagos International Trade Fair, held from November 7 to 16, 2025, at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.

The Lagos International Trade Fair, organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) under the leadership of its President, Gabriel Idahosa, FCA, remains the country’s most prominent international business exhibition. Since its transition from federal control to LCCI in 1986, the Fair has evolved into a major hub for trade, innovation, and investment, attracting thousands of exhibitors and participants from across Nigeria and beyond.

This year’s edition, themed “Connecting Businesses, Creating Value,” brought together key players across sectors—ranging from manufacturing and agriculture to technology, energy, and creative industries. The Fair provided a robust platform for connecting enterprises, fostering partnerships, and promoting cross-border trade.

Representing the Edo State Government, Hon. Anabor emphasized the administration’s strategic focus on empowering local businesses and expanding the state’s economic footprint.

He stated that the government remains committed to enhancing market access for MSMEs, improving the business environment, and positioning Edo as a competitive destination for investment.

According to him, Edo State’s participation reflects ongoing efforts to showcase the innovation, resilience, and potential of indigenous enterprises while strengthening ties with national and international stakeholders.

The Commissioner was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Felicia N. Edokpolor, Esq., alongside some staff of the Ministry who supported the coordination and representation of the state throughout the Fair.

Edo State’s presence at the 2025 Lagos International Trade Fair further reinforces the Ministry of Business, Trade and Investment’s mission to drive enterprise development, stimulate trade diversification, and solidify the state’s position as a rising hub for sustainable economic growth in Nigeria.
