Bright Future Awaits Nigeria In 2026 And Beyond – Says Fasoranti, Afenifere Leader, In His New Year’s message

The Leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, Chief Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, OFR, CFR, has stated that a bright future awaits Nigeria as we enter the new year, 2026.

The optimistic declaration by the nonagenarian was contained in a statement released by the National Publicity Secretary of the organization, Comrade Jare Ajayi who further quoted Pa Fasoranti as congratulating Nigerians for surviving the year 2025.

“Without doubt, every year comes with its own challenges. 2025 was not an exception. We thank the Almighty God for seeing us through the year. We thank the Almighty God for counting us among those who are starting the new year, 2026. We have the hope of being among those who will survive the year, achieve a lot within the year and live beyond the year 2026 by God’s grace, amen.”

Ajayi quoted Fasoranti as adding that the year 2025 ended on a happier note than say 2024 for Nigeria as a country and that there is every indication that 2026 will even be better.

“The economy looked up going by certain indices. Security was better as the last month of the year rolled to an end compared to say same time of the year before. At the socio-economic level, hope was re-engendered in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda”.

The statement reiterated Fasoranti’s declaration when Nigeria turned 65 in October that the country will soon be a nation that the citizens will be proud of.

“Yes, although Nigeria has faced – and is still facing – challenges, there is the prospect that it will overcome these challenges and come out strong very soon by the grace of God!”

Ajayi said that the Asiwaju Yoruba’s optimism was based “on the determination of the federal government under President Bola Tinubu towards concretizing Nigeria’s developmental strides, the resilience and never-say-die-spirit of Nigerians, the resources with which the country is endowed and the love of God as reflected in how He has been merciful on us as a people”.

Afenifere leader expressed the hope that positive impacts of the policies of Tinubu government are already being felt adding that more concrete effects of these policies will be felt in the new year.

While rejoicing with Nigerians on the occasion of the new year, Afenifere leader called on the government to work more on ensuring security for life and property, put an end to terrorism, banditry and kidnapping as well as enhance the well-being of the people.

He enjoined citizens to be optimistic as there are indications that things will soon be better going by the readiness to start state police in the country as well as the preparedness to give local government councils more elbow room; “all of which are meant to enhance security and boost good governance even at the grassroots level”.
