Adeboye Condoles AbdulRazaq Over Kwara Massacre, Calls For Unity And Youth Engagement Amid Security Concerns

The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, has joined the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, in mourning the victims of recent security incidents in parts of the state, while urging residents—especially youths—to remain calm, united and hopeful.

Adeboye expressed heartfelt condolences to families affected by the violence, describing the losses as painful and deeply saddening.

He commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his prompt response and continued engagement with security agencies to restore peace and protect communities.

“This is a moment of grief for Kwara, and I stand with His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the good people of the state,” Adeboye said.

“We mourn those lost, pray for the injured, and reaffirm our collective resolve to reject fear and division.”

The SSA stressed that the Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is taking decisive steps to address the situation, adding that coordinated security actions are already underway to stabilize affected areas.

Beyond immediate security measures, Adeboye highlighted youth engagement as a lasting pathway to peace, noting that sports, education and community programmes help channel energy positively and reduce vulnerability to crime.

“Sports remains a powerful tool for healing, unity and discipline,” he said.

“By investing in grassroots sports and community development, we create opportunities that keep our youths engaged and our communities safer.”

Adeboye called on traditional rulers, community leaders and parents to support ongoing efforts and cooperate with authorities, emphasizing that grassroots collaboration is essential for sustainable peace.

He concluded by reaffirming his office’s commitment to expanding grassroots sports initiatives in Kwara and nationwide, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda to foster unity, opportunity and national cohesion.“Kwara will rise again,” Adeboye said. “Together—with compassion, unity and purpose—we will overcome.”
