Argungu Festival: Idris Promises Kebbi’s Farmers Free Fertilizer, Agricultural Implements

As the Argungu International fishing festival enters it’s second day on Thursday, Kebbi State Government said it will continue to be generous to farmers by distributing fertilizer and other agricultural implements free to them for increase yields.
The Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Shehu Mu’azu, made this known in Argungu during an agricultural show that involves an exhibition of various agric produce.
He said farmers in the State have enjoyed free allocation of fertilizer, free water pumping machines, free power tillers, free agricultural chemicals and free improved seeds, which will be sustained.
“The rice pyramids here on display and other farm produce, are the outcome of such laudable policy of ensuring food security and sufficiency, that would be sustained.”
The State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris in company of the Deputy Governor, Sen. Umar Abubakar Tafida, Traditional Rulers from all over the Federation as well as other Special Guests, inspected pavilions where assorted agricultural produce were on display.
