Osun FA Approves NIN As Valid Age Verification For Age-Group Football Tournaments
The Osun State Football Association (Osun FA) has approved the use of National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment as the only recognized means of age validation for all age-group football tournaments in the state.
This decision is part of the Association’s efforts to curb the persistent problem of age falsification among grassroots football clubs and ensure fairness, integrity, and credibility in youth competitions.
The Board, led by Mayor Sola Fanawopo, has directed the Secretary and Management Staff of the Association to implement this policy with immediate effect.
All Local Government Football Councils have been formally instructed to comply fully with the new directive.
Henceforth, only players who have completed their NIN enrolment and can present valid documentation will be eligible to participate in age-grade competitions organized under the auspices of Osun FA.
The Association urges all clubs, academies, coaches, and parents to cooperate with this policy in the interest of genuine player development and the overall growth of football in Osun State.
Osun FA remains committed to promoting transparency, discipline, and professionalism at all levels of the game.
