Meet Titi Adewusi, Co-Founder 9ijakids
Titi is an Engineer by training, a Management Consultant by experience, and an Educator by passion. Titi’s mission is to empower African youth with quality education through innovative technologies and community engagement. She is the Co-founder of 9ijakids, an all-female founder of Edtech Company. 9ijakids is helping to reduce poverty in Africa by providing access to affordable education via its gamified online learning platform for nursery, primary, and secondary school students across Africa. 9ijakids has partnerships with two of the largest Nigerian telecommunications operators, MTN and Glo, which allows children to access 9ijakids fun learning content using their airtime.
9ijakids has received several awards and recognitions both internationally and locally including Global Education Startup Awards (GESAwards), Milken Penn GSE Education Business Plan Competition, and Best Creative Children’s Brand at the 2021 ACE Awards. 9ijakids was among the 12 selected Edtech companies for the 2023 MasterCard Foundation Edtech Fellowship.
Titi is one of the conveners of the annual STEAM Fun Fest – Africa’s largest STEAM gathering over 4,500 attendees to spark a love for STEAM in children ages 7-15 years through career talks, experiential STEAM activities, and games. STEM Africa Fest has expanded to other African countries in the last two years – Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya, Gambia, Sierra Leone and Zambia. To date, impacted over 12,000 participants.
Titi has been recognized both internationally and locally. She is a 2024 Cartier Women Initiative fellow, Leading Ladies Africa 100 inspiring women in 2020 and 2022, and a PowerWoman100 in 2021.
Titi was named top 5 Nigerian Education Outliers of 2020 by Edusko one of Africa’s largest online educational platforms.
Titi has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and over 20 years of experience which include over a decade at Andersen/KPMG. Titi has been a volunteer teacher for over 15 years in her local church and currently sits on the board of Bethesda Child Support Agency, an NGO advocating free education in underserved communities in sub-Saharan Africa. She also sits on the board of ROWAA a non-for-profit that supports vulnerable widows in Lagos State.
She is an alumnus of Founder Institute, the world’s largest pre-seed startup accelerator based in Silicon Valley, and an alumnus of the African Women Entrepreneurship Cooperative (AWEC), which is a high-touch leadership and business management capacity-building program operated through the US Center for Global Enterprise (CGE). https://www.linkedin.com/in/titilope-adewusi/
