We’ll Retrieve Our Mandate From Defectors, Wike Chides Bayelsa, Taraba Governors, Others At PDP Convention

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike has sent a strong signal that the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, will retrieve its mandate from the governors who defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Speaking at the PDP convention in Abuja on Sunday, the FCT Minister said the party would bounce back despite its initial setbacks.

An elated Wike said he was happy to see some of the founding fathers of the PDP, such as former governors of Jigawa and Kaduna states ( Alhaji Sule Lamido and Ahmed Markafi) in attendance.

He said; ” I want to commend Alhaji Sule Lamido and Ahmed Markafi, Senator Abba Moro, Kingsley Chinda and others for attending this convention. It’s truly show that they are leaders in every sense of it.

” I want to assure you that contrary to the fear that we might not be on the ballot in 2027 general election, we’ll be on the ballot. We’ll rebuild PDP.

” To those who took our mandate to other party in Taraba, Bayelsa and other states, we will retrieve our mandate.” He added.

Wike, who said he had a prepared speech, but had to abridged it because of the inspiring messages from Lamido, Markafi, Dr. Bukola Saraki and others, assured the PDP members at the Abuja National Stadium, venue of the convention that the Party will bounce back.
