LAGOS, Nigeria – President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, have described newly-inaugurated infrastructure in Lagos as clear evidence of purposeful governance and a commitment to improving the lives of citizens.
The event, which drew top political figures from across the country, witnessed the presence of Governors Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, and Babagana Zulum of Borno State, among other dignitaries.

Speaking on behalf of the President, at the inauguration in Ikeja, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, said the projects go beyond physical structures, noting that they represent a system that is working and delivering tangible benefits to the people.
According to him, developments such as the Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge are not merely roads but “bridges to opportunity,” capable of reducing travel time, boosting productivity, and stimulating economic growth in a fast-paced city like Lagos.
He described Lagos as a model of innovation and resilience, urging other states to emulate its development strides.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, in his address, said the projects reflect a deliberate and strategic approach to governance focused on solving real-life challenges through practical solutions.
He noted that the three projects inaugurated – the Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information Service Building, and the Multi-Agency Administrative Complex – were designed to address mobility, urban planning, and efficient service delivery.
“The objective is simple: to improve quality of life for Lagosians – less time in traffic, more productivity, and more time for families,” the Governor said.
Sanwo-Olu explained that the 5.04-kilometre Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge provides a critical alternative route linking Opebi and Allen to Ikorodu Road, easing pressure on major corridors such as Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way and Maryland.
Aerial view of Ojota-Opebi Link BridgeHe added that the project incorporates modern features including walkways, bicycle lanes, solar-powered street lighting, and flood-control systems, reflecting a forward-looking approach to infrastructure development.
On the Lagos State Geographic Information Service building, the Governor said it represents a shift from manual to digital land administration, improving transparency, strengthening property rights, and enhancing the ease of doing business.
He also described the Multi-Agency Complex, named after President Tinubu, as a transformative step toward integrated governance, bringing multiple government agencies under one roof to improve coordination and service delivery.
Akpabio, in his remarks, echoed this position, noting that the complex would enhance efficiency within the public service and make governance more accessible to citizens.
He further highlighted the importance of data-driven systems, stating that modern land administration is critical for planning, transparency, and economic growth.
Akpabio reaffirmed the support of the National Assembly for the President’s reform agenda, while urging residents to take ownership of the infrastructure and protect them.
“These projects are investments in the future. They must be used, preserved, and built upon,” he said.
Governor Sanwo-Olu used the occasion to acknowledge the legacy of President Tinubu, noting that many of the projects being delivered are built on foundations laid during his tenure as Lagos governor.“When others saw challenges, he saw possibilities. The Lagos we are building today is a continuation of that vision,” he said.
The Governor also assured residents that his administration, with just over 400 days left in office, would intensify efforts to complete ongoing projects and sustain development momentum.
