Adeleke Slams Doherty Over Attack On Bode George, PDP Leaders
A People’s Democratic Party’s Chieftain, Dare Adeleke has lampooned Engr Adedeji Doherty for having the effrontery to attack former deputy national chairman of the party, Chief Olabode George in an interview granted yesterday.
Adeleke, in a lengthy piece, faulted Doherty for his unprovoked attack on Chief George.
According to him:
“Truly, when there is disorder in the land, truants and vagabonds inevitably scramble to loot the spoils. How else can one explain the absurdity of a nonentity like Deji Doherty presuming to occupy the leadership of the South-West PDP?
“How does an insignificant loudmouth muster the audacity to open his filthy cavity and criticise an elder statesman of Chief Bode George’s stature? It is an abnormality – grotesque in all its contradictions. Who exactly is Deji Doherty, a Lagos tout; to assume leadership of any zone in this country, let alone the South-West, a region renowned for producing men and women of intellect, decency, discipline, and integrity?
“What is unfolding in Nigeria’s democracy today is enough to make any right thinking individual weep. Bola Tinubu, having effectively issued a reckless political decree to dismantle the PDP and, by extension, undermine the justice system – through his willing enforcer, Nyesom Wike, has all but desecrated the sacrifices made by countless patriots for the democracy we now see being trampled upon.
“In his laughable tirade threatening to expel Chief Bode George for daring to criticise Wike, Doherty exposes the dangerous illusion that Tinubu’s embedded agents within the PDP now consider themselves superior even to the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
“It is profoundly offensive that this political scavenger- an Ekiti man by claim, with roots in Ilesha – dares to direct his venom at Chief Bode George. Where was Wike when the founding fathers of the PDP, men of unquestionable stature like Bode George; were laying the party’s foundation? Was Wike even politically relevant when George served as the first Deputy National Chairman (South) and later as National Deputy Chairman?
“By what warped logic does Wike, who has openly wrecked and commodified the party, now place himself above criticism?
“The truth is stark – Deji Doherty is a nuisance, propped up by Ayo Fayose in the farcical Abuja convention – now rendered null and void, to manipulate Lagos delegates. This is the same individual alleged to have fraternised politically with Tinubu in 2023 and benefited from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s patronage. A man who parades Lagos with street urchins like a petty mafia figure now seeks legitimacy. Both he and the expelled Wike operate more as APC agents than PDP members, this is no longer speculation but an open secret.
“That such an impostor struts about claiming leadership of the PDP South-West only underscores how deeply polluted the political space has become – where impunity thrives and even Supreme Court pronouncements are treated with contempt.
“Following the latest ruling of the Supreme Court, the Wike-backed National Working Committee led by Anyanwu, previously suspended by the legitimate party structure under former National Chairman Ilyas Umar Damagum, remains firmly suspended. The chaotic Abuja convention stands nullified.
“Wike, Fayose, Doherty, and their cohorts have effectively alienated themselves from the PDP, as duly recognised by legitimate party members and have since been suspended.Let it be made abundantly clear to these treacherous elements that the sacrifices of our forebears will not be in vain. Tinubu cannot extinguish the PDP. The party will regroup, rebuild, and return to the ballot stronger, united, and resolute for 2027.
“Deji Doherty would do well to restrain himself from his divisive, acrimonious, misleading, and inflammatory outbursts against those far above his station.
“He remains what he has consistently proven himself to be – a political gangster, cut from the same cloth as his erratic benefactor, Ayo Fayose, and their patron, the Abuja land grabber, Nyesom Wike.”
