The Permanent Chairman of the Southern Nigerian Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC), Arole Oodua Olofin Adimula and the Natural Head of the Oduduwa race worldwide, the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, has paid glowing tribute to elder statesman and leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, as he clocks 100 years, describing his life as “a century of sacrifice, courage and unwavering service to humanity.”
In a statement on Monday released by the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Otunba Moses Olafare, the Ooni who is also the Permanent Co-chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) said Pa Fasoranti’s journey over the last 100 years has been one marked by integrity, selflessness and uncommon dedication to the progress of the Yoruba race and Nigeria as a whole.
The Ooni noted that reaching the age of 100 is not only a rare privilege but also a testimony to a purposeful life spent fighting for justice, fairness, good governance and the wellbeing of the people.

Oba Ogunwusi described the Afenifere leader as one of the few surviving pillars of wisdom and moral leadership in Nigeria, whose voice has remained consistent on issues affecting the Yoruba people and the nation.
According to the Ooni, Pa Fasoranti has over the decades built a reputation as a fearless patriot who placed service above personal interest, earning him respect across political, cultural and religious boundaries.
The royal father added that beyond his contributions to politics and public service, the centenarian is admired for his humility, simplicity and fatherly role to many Nigerians.
“Baba Fasoranti represents a generation that believed in sacrifice, honour and genuine love for the people. His life continues to remind us that true leadership is about service, integrity and commitment to humanity,” the Ooni stated.
The Ooni further described the elder statesman as a symbol of Yoruba unity and resilience whose contributions to nation-building would remain indelible in history.
“As he celebrates 100 remarkable years on earth, we celebrate not just his age, but the values he has stood for throughout his lifetime. Baba has inspired generations with his wisdom, courage and steadfastness,” the statement added.
The Ooni prayed for continued strength, peace and divine grace for Pa Fasoranti, while urging younger Nigerians to emulate his virtues of honesty, discipline, patriotism and selfless service.
