D’Tigress Begin Final Preparations For 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup
..Opens Camp in USA, Set for friendly games in China, Spain

Nigeria’s senior women’s national basketball team, D’Tigress have commenced preparations ahead of the FIBA Women’s World Cup, coming up in Berlin, Germany, in September. 4-13, 2026.
A release by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), revealed that the reigning Afrobasket champions, D’Tigress, open camping in Chicago, USA, July 29-August 2.

NBBF further disclosed that the D’Tigress who holds a record five consecutive Afrobasket titles, and also the first African national basketball team to reach quater-finals stage at the last Olympic games in Paris, France, would travel aboard the luxurious airplane of its partner, XE Jet to Haikou, China, for 3 friendly games between August 3-14.
The team would hit Tenerife, Spain, in August 15-24 for tune up matches against Spain and Belgium. The Coach Rena Wakama led D’Tigress, would round up preparations with further games in Zaragoza, Spain, against Mali and Puerto Rico.
President of Nigeria Basketball Federation, Engr.(Dr) Ahmadu Musa Kida, said the NBBF Board and its technical committee, are working hard to ensure the Queens of African basketball, are mentally, physical and tactically prepared for the World Cup. He went ahead to appreciate its partners, particularly, XEJet for providing seamless travel supports for the national teams.
