Lagos PDP Chides Wike Over Outbursts On Chief Bode George …..Unveils Guber Candidate, Running Mate

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly chided the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over his recent verbal outbursts against party elder statesman, Chief Bode George.

During a high-stakes media briefing on Wednesday in Lagos where the party also unveiled its gubernatorial candidate and running mate, the state chapter described Wike’s corruption allegations regarding George’s Abuja residence as reckless, baseless, and a blatant abuse of public office.

Speaking at the media briefing, Dr Christopher Odianarewo, Lagos PDP Publicity Secretary urged Wike to focus strictly on his ministerial duties in the FCT rather than meddling in Lagos politics and attacking respected party leaders.

Meanwhile, Dr. Adetokunbo Pearse and Mrs. Abosede Akorode were officially unveiled at the media briefing as the party’s gubernatorial candidate and running mate respectively.

Speaking after the unveiling, Dr. Pearse declared his readiness to steer Lagos State to greater heights alongside his running mate.

He heavily criticized the financial management of the state, claiming that Lagos generates ₦1.3 trillion monthly through internally generated revenue (IGR) and local government allocations, yet has little to nothing to show for it in terms of actual development.

Dr. Pearse also launched a fierce attack on Engr. Deji Doherty, whose name has been uploaded by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the Lagos PDP gubernatorial candidate.

Pearse accused Doherty of being a “surrogate” of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who is actively working to secure a second term for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Maintaining that former President Goodluck Jonathan remains the authentic PDP presidential candidate for the group, Dr. Pearse disclosed that his name and those of other parallel candidates have been submitted to INEC manually.

He assured party loyalists that their camp remains undeterred by the online portals, expressing absolute confidence that they will secure total victory at the appellate court
