2023 Election: Lagos PFN Urges Churches To Appoint Church Officer Of Politics

As the nation prepares for the 2023 general elections, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, has urged churches under its banner to appoint Church Officer of Politics (COP), in each of their parishes and branches.

The Christian body gave the order in a reminder contained in a press release signed by the State Director, Directorate of Politics and Governance of Lagos (DPGLAGOS), Bishop Theophilus Taiwo Ajose, on Friday.

The decision of the Lagos PFN, was said to be in alignment with PFN National DPG operational guidelines.

In the press release, PFN stated that: “The prophetic political destiny of the church at this point requires political actions rather than political sermons; setting aside of doctrinal and denominational barriers, put in place political and partisan engagements, involvement, education, enlightenment and a sense of prophetic responsibility.”
