Kolawole Tasks Muslims On Ramadan Prayers, Islamic Teachings
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Hon. Bisi Kolawole has called on Muslim faithful in the State to use the Ramadan fasting period to offer prayers to Allah (SWT) for the restoration of good governance and security of lives and properties in Ekiti State and Nigeria.
He also urged that Muslim faithful give their minds and hearts to teachings by Islamic Scholars during the fasting period.
In a statement on Saturday, by his Media Adviser, Bola Agboola, the PDP Governorship candidate congratulated Muslims in Ekiti State for seeing the beginning of the 30 days fasting period and prayed that “Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) will accept their Ibadah and preserve them to see the end of the Ramadan fasting period.”
He reminded the Muslim faithful what the great Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (PBUH), said about Ramadan fasting being a shield against vices and one of the five pillars of Islam.
“Our Muslim leaders, friends, brothers and sisters in Ekiti State in particular and Nigeria as a whole are urged to open their minds to sermons by Islamic Scholars during the period.
“Reading of the Holy Quran and listening to Hadith (Actions and sayings of the Holy Prophet) of the Holy Prophet and Tesfir (Sermons of knowledgeable scholars) are major components of the Ramadan fasting period that our Muslim faithful should hold sacrosanct.
“My prayer is for all the supplications that will be made for our State and country during the fasting period to be acceptable to Allah (SWT),” he said.
