Pastor Adeboye Speaks On RCCG Political Memo Towards 2023

…….Says “My Assignment Is Not To Be A Partisan Politician”

….”Nigeria Moving Steadily Into Bankruptcy”

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has clarified his position on the memo emanated from the church, urging parishes to set up political desk in each of its branches.

The memo has generated a lot of controversy and those in other faiths are saying it may lead to major religious crisis and polarized the nation.

The revered clergy who spoke at the Thanksgiving Service of the RCCG at Ebute Meta Headquarters on Sunday said his assignment is to pray for people and nations, including Nigeria.

He, however, said he has never told anyone in the RCCG to vote for a particular candidate because he’s not a partisan politician.

“Pastor Adeboye is not a politician. I have never been and I will never be. That’s not my calling. God said to me clearly that you are to be pastor. When I became General Overseer you will see a name plate with Rev,  Dr.  E A Adeboye, B.sc, Ife, M.Sc UNILAG, P.hd, Ilorin, God told me to remove all the titles when I was about to turn 40 and God showed me a vision and in the vision, He showed me through a graph. He knows that I was a mathematician and decided to speak to me mathematically. All these big titles, Rev, Dr, B.sc , Ph.D, you are to remove them because you will be my pastor.

“My assignment is to pray for you, pray for Nations, including Nigeria. My assignment is not to be a partisan politician.

“You will bear me out those of you who are genuine members of RCCG, I have never told you to vote for anyone. I have never told you any party to join.

“All the political parties: APC, PDP, APGA, Labour Party, ADC and others are represented here. The only reasons I have never voted is that when I voted for one, I will be unjust to my other children.

“If you don’t vote, you have no reason to complain. They chose for you because you chose not to vote.

“You must register and vote. You must ensure that you votes count. I don’t care which party you belong, I don’t care who you vote for, just do your duty.

Adeboye however reiterated that God hasn’t showed him who will win the presidential election in 2023.

“I don’t know whether there will be any election next year yet.”

Speaking on Nigeria’s debt, Adeboye said it’s very serious that it’s an open secret that Nigeria is loosing 80 percent of her oil resources to oil thieves and at the same time using 90 percent of the earned revenue to service debts, adding that Nigeria is moving steadily to bankruptcy.
