APC Governors Meet Buhari, Reject Consensus Primaries

Ahead of today Extraordinary emergency national executive committee meeting, 19 All Progressives Congress Governors met President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday and insisted that there must be an indirect primaries to select the presidential candidate.

The governors who are vehemently opposed to the consensus arrangement proposed by President Buhari may be heading for a showdown with him. 

A source at the meeting said the governors told President Buhari that one of them must be selected as the presidential candidate of the party. 

A letter sighted by Newsnow yesterday and signed by the national secretary of the APC, Senator Iyiola Omisore indicated that the meeting will hold today by 10.00am at Transcorp Hilton, Hotel, Abuja.

EXTRAORDINARY EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC)

An extraordinary emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be held tomorrow Wednesday, 20th April, 2022 at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

All members of NEC are expected to be seated by 9am. prompt.
