Ekiti Guber: Ebira Community In Ado Ekiti Promises Support For PDP Candidate, Bisi Kolawole
The Ebira Community in Opopogboro area of Ado Ekiti has declared support for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the June 18 election, Hon Bisi Kolawole.
The Ebiras, who trooped out in their large numbers when the former Governor Ayodele Fayose led PDP campaign train visited their Community on Sunday evening, said they will vote for the PDP because PDP government gave them a sense of belonging.
They said it was during the PDP government of Fayose that one of them was elected as councillor in Ado Local Government and that their people also got political appointments.
Leader of the Ebira Community, Alhaji Laisi Subaru, who spoke in Ebira dialect, said; “It was the PDP government of Fayose that gave us borehole here. Osoko (Fayose) is our man any day, we will vote for the candidate of his party, PDP. It will be massive vote for PDP on the election day.”
Mallam Yusuf Jamiu, the PDP Deputy Chairman in Ward 9, Ado Local Government said “it was only in PDP that himself, an Ebira man is a Ward Deputy Chairman. It was during PDP government that we had a Councillor and other political appointees among us. We will deliver for the PDP, a party that recognized our existence.”
Addressing the crowd, Fayose said Bisi Kolawole will be accessible to them just as he was when he was Governor.
He assured that the PDP government to be led by Bisi Kolawole will replicate the good governance of the previous PDP governments.
Also speaking, Kolawole, who described the Ebira people as hardworking and resourceful, said he will prioritize agriculture, with the Ebira farmers enjoying government support. He promised to do for them, more than what Fayose did when he was Governor.
