Opinion Poll Favours Boye Oyewumi As Ondo South Preferred Senatorial Candidate

An independent online survey has shown that many members of the All Progressives Congress, and registered voters in the Ondo South Senatorial District of Ondo State, have their preference, in the person of Mr Boye Oyewumi, for the party’s Senatorial ticket and choice, as the next Senator to represent the Ondo South Senator District.

Oyewumi, is the former Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, of the Ondo State Development and Investment Promotion Agency (ONDIPA).

His Choice, as revealed through the online survey which was conducted by FREDDAN Continental Consultancy, a team of Development Experts and International Poll Analyst, a larger percentage of the respondents showed their readiness to support Oyewumi, ahead of other contenders, including Honorable Mayowa Akinfolarin, Business mogul Jimoh Ibrahim, Barrister Morayo Lebi, businessman Matthew Oyerinmade and a former Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and one time Nigeria’s Ambassador to Togo, Chief Olusola Iji respectively.

According to the figures derived from the survey, which was divided into two parts, Online and SMS Survey, 5206 of the total of 11586 participants in the poll, representing 45 per cent of the respondents voted in favor of Oyewumi, ahead of his closest contender, Honorable Mayowa Akinfolarin, a serving member of the Federal House of Representatives, who got the support of 25 percent of respondents.

Respondents from Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo, Odigbo, Ilaje and Ese odo, respectively top the list of participants, who voted Oyewumi, as their preferred candidate.

In the SMS survey which targeted respondents in the six local government areas in the senatorial district, majority expressed their readiness to vote for the APC, if Boye Oyewumi is fielded as the party’s flag bearer.
The survey covered all the Local Government Areas of the southern senatorial district, and respondents cut across members of the APC, and registered in other category.
