Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has disowned the resolution of the All Progressives Congress Governors from the north to cede power to the south in the 2023 general election.Bello speaking on a current affairs program, Sunday Politics, monitored on Channels Television in Lagos on Sunday said he was not consulted before such decision was made.He, however, said such decision without consulting with President Muhammadu Buhari was an attempt to further divide the people of the country.The Kogi Governor maintains that delegates across the country has been fully mobilized to vote for him, adding that it’s now too late to change such move.Bello, however said if the choice of consensus candidate is from President Buhari, he would accept whoever the President chooses.“I’m talking of a Nigerian, not a regional leader that will serve the country better.“At our meeting yesterday, we all agreed that whoever that is chosen amongst us, we will all support him. “Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was there and did not object to the President Buhari to pick a consensus candidate. He boasted that if given the APC presidential ticket, he’ll beat the PDP standard bearer Atiku Abubakar before noon on the day of election. On the alleged friction in his campaign organisation that led to the exit of his friend Femi Fani-Kayode, he says; “Femi Fani-Kayode was never part of my presidential campaign. He’s my friend and has always been with me. And he’s still with me till tomorrow.”
