Odeyemi To Atiku: PDP Must Not Lose Ekiti, Osun Elections

Ex deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Diran Odeyemi, has warned that the party must work extra hard and ensure victory in Ekiti and Osun governorship polls, if it does not want to go into extinction in the region.

Odeyemi said his warning was sequel to the emergence of ex Lagos governor, Bola Tinubu, as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, at a time Southern part of the country appears completely neglected by the PDP.

He said the first issue that must be quickly addressed to show seriousness of the opposition party to win Ekiti and Osun poll was for the Presidential candidate of PDP Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to lead the campaign in the two states with immediate effect.

According to him, campaigning for votes in Ekiti and Osun states may be difficult for PDP with obvious neglect of the region by the leaders of the party, adding that Tinubu’s emergence would energise the ruling party in the region.

“And we need to quickly halt that momentum that APC may enjoy with Tinubu’s emergence as the presidential candidate of APC. Moreso that this happened when South West region appears completely out of recokning in the political permutations of PDP powerbrokers.

“PDP mush win Ekiti and Osun poll to set strong platform for our party presidential candidate to win in 2023 there must be restructuring whereby the National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu must immediately give way for a South West candidate to fill the post of chairman.

“To checkmate APC rigging plans and their momentum joy of a Yoruba man as their Candidate, Ekiti and Osun state needs all necessary support and assistance of the Governors most especially Oyo state Gov, Engr Seyi Makinde.

“PDP can not afford to do otherwise as only a good outing in Ekiti and Osun governorship polls will signal a winning formula for our candidate, Atiku Abubakar in 2023 Presidential election. Odeyemi said.End
