Give Priority To Pensioners, Workers, Infrastructure, Activist Tells Adeleke
A human rights activist, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman has counseled the Osun State Governor-Elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke to make his government be an embodiment of good governance by giving priority to pensioners,workers and an endurable infrastructures.
In a signed congratulatory message on the victory of Senator Ademola Adeleke during the just concluded keenly contested Osun State Governorship election held on Saturday 16th July, 2022 and the statement was made available to newsmen on Friday, he urged Adeleke to right the perceived wrong of his predecessors in office by allowing justice to prevail on every action of his government.
Sulaiman, who is Executive Chairman, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ), advised the Governor-Elect to talk less before he took the mantle of leadership of the State from the current helmsman, Governor Gboyega Oyetola in November this year, but to be ruminating on how to map out the strategies in order to make a difference in delivery of good governance to the good people of the State within the shortest possible time of his tenure in office.
According to the statement, the Governor-Elect should know that every success in life used to have many friends, even, without contributing to such success by fellow human being but nobody would like to associate with a failure and he should know that end of his four years tenure of office,has come on the day he was sworn-in into office so as not sorround his government with mediocrities.
Commending the Governor-Elect for dedicating the victory at the poll to his late elder brother and first Executive Governor of the State, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke and good people of the State, describing the late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke as a leader of all while alive, advising him to build on endurable legacies of his late elder brother.
Sulaiman also advised the Governor-Elect to hit the ground running immediately after he took the Oath of Office in November by constituting the egg-heads as members of his cabinet, adding that he should also warn the members of his cabinet against taking any decision on his behalf that would contrary to the wishes of the masses.
Sulaiman, who further urged Senator Adeleke to learn allot about what led to the recent election results of his predecessor in office by taking a cue from it, as all know that “down fall of dry leaf, is warning to the greenone”, further advising Adeleke not to run the government of vengeance but masses-oriented government that would put the State in an enviable height among the comity of States in the federation.
Sulaiman, therefore, prayed for the success of the Governor-Elect in office.
