Ogun West Traditional Rulers Confirm Abiodun’s Endorsement For Second Term

Traditional rulers from Ogun West Senatorial District have confirmed the endorsement of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for a second term in office.

Speaking under the aegis of Royal Trust, after a closed door meeting with the governor on Monday, the royal fathers affirmed the earlier position of the Olu Ilaro and paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, who on Saturday announced the endorsement.

The meeting held at the governor’s office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, had in attendance, the Secretary of the group, the Onigbejo of Igbejo, Oba Sunday Adelakun, who spoke on behalf of other monarchs, saying that the traditional rulers from Yewaland are satisfied with the performances of the governor in the last three years, and have decided to endorse him for a second term in office.

According to Oba Adelakun, “we met with the governor and our discussion was first of all to appreciate him for what he is doing in the State in terms of development and we equally pledged our support for his second term re-election bid.

“His laudable achievements in the past three years especially in Yewaland is commendable. What we lack in the past years is being given to us and we want him to conclude his good work, that is why we came as royal fathers under the aegis of Royal Trust. We are giving him all the backing for the second tenure. We want him to finished the good work he had started”, the Oba explained.

The monarch explained that this singular action was necessary in appreciation of the positive development through people oriented projects the present administration is doing, not only in Yewaland, but in all parts of the State.

He assured the governor that Yewa people are solidly behind his aspiration and would ensure that his second term bid become a reality.

“We are 45 in number and an enlarged meeting with the governor will be held very soon where we will express our gratitude to him and reaffirm our support for his second term bid. I want to assure the governor that Yewa people are with him and we are sure that he will definitely be there’s for second term. His second coming his unshakable “, Oba Adelakun submitted.
