Lagbo Alaafia: Crown 101.5 FM Reviews Previous Editions ….Set To Feature Beneficiaries Of CHESTRAD’s Palliative
Effective from Friday 26 August 2022, Crown 101.5 FM will introduce new features to the Lagbo Alaafia, a radio town hall on COVID-19 health and well-being program sponsored by CHESTRAD Global.
Dr. Lola-Dare, President, CHESTRAD Global while featuring on zoom meeting with the crew on the review of the first quarter of the program maintains that there’s need for feedback from the audience in order to improve on subsequent editions.
Last Friday, Crown 101.5 fm did an in-house review to be able to improve on the town hall program.
According to the Crew, some of the beneficiaries of the stimulus package of CHESTRAD will feature on the program to share their experiences with the people.
The trio of Omotayo Omotade, Seyi Akinsola and Feranmi Aloko while reviewing the previous editions of Lagbo Alaafia were unanimous that the program has elicited positive reactions from the feedback received from the radio audience.
From the myths surrounding the COVID-19, the conspiracy theories, vaccines hesitancy and inadequate vaccines, the trio said their guests were able to explain in details some of the grey areas, especially vaccines hesitation and inadequate vaccines in the African continent.
The Crew said the issue around the facility available to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 disruption to people’s means of livelihood was really revealing.
This according to the Crew was made possible by the guest, Dr. Olukunle Oluitan who took time to explain the modalities of the Bank of North and Central Bank of Nigeria loans to certain categories of the people.
Dr. Oluitan also appeals to the authority that the interest rate should be reduced to single digit.
To Ola Abraham, a guest on episode 8 on how to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 also raised a poser! How prepared is the federal government to handle medical emergency if the need arises. According to him, Nigeria is lagging behind in diagnostic, which is the basic requirement in treatment of any disease or ailment.
Dr. Adeola Shobola who spoke on the effect of the pandemic on education sector said the impact of the disruption is still with the children.
She, however, said that a vital sector like education was left out in the stimulus package. Prof Adebayo Abayomi of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, speaks on access to basic healthcare.
Ola Abraham also featured on segment that deals with community self help (Crowd funding) as a way out since paucity of fund may hinder governments from reaching out to everyone.
