Oil Theft:Nigeria Losing $4.4 Billion Monthly—Adebayo
The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Prince Adebayo Adewole, has said the problem with Nigeria is bad leadership.
Adebayo who dropped the bombshell said; “ Conservatively, Nigeria is losing $4.4billion monthly to oil theft which is being stolen by the federal government under General Muhammadu Buhari.”
Speaking at the ongoing Nigeria Bar Association Annual General Congress in Lagos on Monday, Adebayo said for Nigeria to get out of the present economic quagmire, there’s need for a change in both attitudinal and generational.
Adebayo who said that Nigerian Government was responsible for the oil theft it is also complaining about, said it’s very difficult for the same government to stop the stealing going on presently.
He urged Nigerians to be wary of the same data coming out from the MDAs and parastatals of the same federal government, adding that it must have been doctored for a predetermined end.
He said; “Chinua Achebe has said the problem of Nigeria was leadership. He was right. We are rotating the same leadership we complained about in other political parties. For Nigeria to make progress, we need both attitudinal and generational change.”
Continuing he said; “ every statistic given to you by the federal government should be questioned, including the ones given to you on this stage this afternoon.”
