2023:How I Intend To Create 30m Jobs, SDP Presidential Candidate, Adebayo Adewole

The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Prince Adebayo Adewole, has reiterated that it’s possible to create 30 million jobs that he promised in Nigerian economy without much stress.

He spoke on Arise Television program, The Morning Show, monitored in Lagos on Wednesday.

Despite the cynicism about the 30 million jobs, Adebayo said it is possible.

“All I need to do was to revive the jobs that were available in the 60s, 70s and early 80s.

He said ; “The textile jobs on Aswani, Ikeja industrial area that were there before will come back.

“Former governor of Lagos state and minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola was complaining of not having enough money to do roads, but under the same government, one person was able to take 109 billion from the government’s coffer. It’s this loophole that we are going to ploughing to free money for all these jobs.

“I spoke with American chamber of commerce and they will help in green energy, in agriculture and other areas.” He added.

On why SDP has not featured prominently in the opinion polls released so far, Adebayo said; “We delay our campaign till today in order not to flout the INEC directive that campaign should start today. Many of the political parties that are being given prominence in opinion poll are not doing much as we are. Our focus is to continue with the membership drive.

“We are not into bogus campaign that won’t be helpful. We have a program today at Ikeja to kickstart our presidential campaign according to INEC regulation and all our notable members will be there; Chief Supo Shonibare, Dr. Olu Agunloye and others.”

On how to unite the country, Adebayo says he believes we need to speak truth about our history and do justice where it’s needed so that Nigerians can stay at home and the issue of ‘japa’ , an euphemism for traveling abroad for greener pastures will be reduced to its barest minimum.

He, however, explained that there’s need to de-emphasized money politics where it is about your ‘war chest’ and not the ideas you are bringing to the table.

He is also of the opinion that the campaign should be on issues and not what amount of money you are going to spend.

On how to reflate the economy, he said; “Since the Buhari’s administration has done poorly in monetary and fiscal policies, I must be mindful of inflation.”
