JANDOR Condemns Sanwo Olu For Non-Remittance Of Civil Servants Pension, Lampoons The State Govt For Using Workers’ Contributions To Fund Election Campaign

Lagos PDP Governorship Candidate, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (JANDOR), has condemned the reported case of the Lagos State Government’s refusal to remit contributory pensions, cooperative and loan deductions of the state government workers in the last two months.

JANDOR in a statement issued by his Spokesman, Gbenga Ogunleye, said it was confirmed from credible sources that the State government stopped remitting pension contributions into workers’ Retirement Savings Accounts with their respective Pension Fund Administrators in July 2022.

It was also confirmed that Cooperative deductions from workers’ salaries were also not remitted by the government, which led to the rejection of most of the Cooperative loan applications from the state workers.

JANDOR described the action of the APC-led government as wicked and criminal.

He said the action violates the provisions of Section 11 subsection 3 (b) of the Pension Reform Act (2014) which clearly states that: “the employer shall not later than seven (7) working days from the day the employee is paid his salary remit an amount comprising the employee’s contribution and the employer’s contribution to the Pension Fund Custodian specified by the Pension Fund Administrator or the employee himself.”

The People’s Governor lampooned the misappropriation and profligacious spending of the state patrimony to fund the campaign of the presidential and gubernatorial candidates of the ruling party.

He stated that the development must be immediately curtailed before the Sanwo Olu-led government filters away the retirement benefits of the state workers.

He also charged the Pension Fund Administrators involved to clear the air on the matter to absolve them of culpability in the criminal act.

JANDOR promised to continue to protect the interest of all residents of the state in the remaining days of the inhuman and corrupt APC government in office.

He assured all Lagosians that the PDP government that will be popularly installed by them in 2023 will redress all the wicked actions of the clueless incumbent government and offer them a breath of fresh air.
